Environment
Mint proudly 'reduces, reuses & recycles' wherever possible.
- PRINTING: We keep printed material to a minimum, preferring to communicate electronically. Mint makes a green choice when printing is required - we choose Printline (www.printline.com.au), a locally owned company who use only FSC certified or 100% recycled paper in all our products. Printline also recycle all print-related waste and consumables, and use organic non-toxic inks.
- TOILET PAPER: We use 'Who Gives a Crap' Toilet paper - a company who are both environmentally friendly and donate 50% of their profits to providing sanitation and clean water to those who need it most
- RECYCLING: the usual suspects cardboard, paper, plastic bottles etc As well as choosing re-fillable ink cartridges, and taking all our shredded material to donate to animal shelters
- COFFEE: we love our coffee, and usually support the local nth freo businesses. We keep re-usable coffee cups at Mint so all team members can choose these non-disposable options. We also have a pod machine in clinic, for a quick cuppa - and we choose biodegradable pods.
- TOWELS: hygiene is obviously extremely important in healthcare. It's important our towels are washed in industrial certified commercial machines. We happily pay an 'environmental fee' to reduce the environmental impact of this necessary process.
Mental Health
WellBeing encompasses not just your physical health, but your mental and emotional needs too.
- PAIN: Contemporary pain science has shown how our mood - anxiety, depression, fears negatively influence pain and recovery. Our Physiotherapists are trained to screen for these influences and can guide you towards getting the help required.
- STRESS: Increased levels of stress have been linked to mental illness as well as cardiovascular disease - massage therapy can reduce stress.
- SUPPORT: We provide group training sessions - being a part of a group provides socialisation for women who may find themselves otherwise isolated. This has been shown to improve mental health status, particularly reducing the incidence of post-natal depression.
- INCLUSIVENESS: the team at Mint welcome all members of the community to experience our clinic. We believe in equity and equality policies which support all individuals.
Preventative Health
- SUN: Recently, Mint lost a young friend - Bruce McCulloch - to skin cancer. His wonderful wife Janet, and their adorable daughter Zoe continue to inspire us all. Mint asks that you protect yourself from the harsh Australian sun (by slip,slop,slap-ping and having your skin regularly checked). For all outdoor sessions, Mint will provide suncream and encourage the use of hats and clothing to protect the skin from UV damage.
- REGULAR MEDICAL CHECK-UPS: Mint encourages all women to maintain regular medical health checks - we will soon be providing a check list to ensure you are up-to-date with your preventative health care.
- EXERCISE: Increasing physical activity reduces your risk of developing heart disease and some cancers - simply by participating you are improving your long-term WellBeing.
Community
Mint proudly supports:
- Kolewa & John Fawcett Foundation - we volunteer our physio services for the children bought to Australia for reconstructive surgery required after suffering extensive burns
- Breast Cancer WA 'Ladies Day' at Mosman Park Cricket Club
- Nth Fremantle Primary School
- The Nappy Collective - we are super proud to be accepted as a donation point, provided nappies to families who need them most; including mothers who have bravely left domestic violence situations with their baby.
Social Policy
